Movement skills: order of application
Published on 20 October 2012 - 12:46:37

I was assembling an Axis force for a 350 points battle, and I stumbled into a bit of a conundrum. I did a quick search of the forums and came up with nothing.

I'd place Lara (Assault skill) with the Sturmpioniers (Fast skill), and I'm not really sure how those two skills interact with each other. The Fast skill gives a single movement action a +1 space bonus, so, if used "before" Assault, the squad+hero could move a blistering lenght of 6 spaces in just one turn (4 with a single move action); however, if Assault is applied before Fast, the squad+hero could move 5 spaces in one turn (3 with a single move action).

Anyone?

"Fast" gives the + 1 bonus only once per turn, so the bonus isn't doubled when you use "Assault". If you use "Fast" and "Assault" both in the same turn, you may either spend 5 Movement points if you perform 2 Move actions or 3 Movement points if you perform 1 Move action.

Dear FFG, please don't stop the Tannhäuser line completely! Maybe just step down the release of new product to two (maybe one) characters per year just to keep players interested. Maybe release mercenary characters that would be useful for every faction thus every player. Maybe release a pack containing all the existing bonus tokens but no miniature. Anything, please!

On another note: Lara is an Armor 3 Hero, so she can't join the Sturmpioniere because they are an Armor 2 squad. Try Stefan or Manfred with the Sturmpioniere to get the great combination of "Fast" and "Assault"!

Same as I thought. And silly me to having not noticed that different AR troops can't mix. Well, back to the drawing board.

You could always throw stefan or manfred into your list.

Yup, will use Manfred (Panzerfaust skill, yummy!).

Stefan is already attached to the Tank Killers squad. I'll probably get rid of a walker and use Lara nonetheless, along the Heavy Flak Grenadiers.

No matter what you have to get rid of, use Lara plus any one of the A3 squads - she's great!
