It (along with The Soul Reaver for Rogue Trader) was sold to me by my FLGS back on Friday, 17AUG2012. It's also available as a download straight from FFG, so your release sheets - or your reading of them - must be in error.

Soul Reaver came out last week.

The release sheets in question come from Esdevium who are the biggest suppliers in the UK. If they don't have it, then noone in the country will. These books are also not on drivethrurpg either.

It was released earlier in some places. I bought it from a store that already had it in stock the on the day it was released. I got Koronus Bestiary nearly 2 weeks before it was 'released'.

And as for DTRPG.com… do they even sell hardcopies? If not, then it won't be on there yet.

They don't sell hardcopies, the question was in response to being able to download the book.

This isn't available in the UK. Bit odd.

So, I can't be the only person to notice that "Belazeith's" speech on Page 19 is basically Elizabeth I's Speech to the Troops at Tilbury, correct?

Well played, FFG.  Well played.

There seems to be a problem getting this book to the UK as it's not out next week either.

Well, that's certainly strange. I live in Finland and I got mine 7 days ago. I am more used to getting everything late compared to the rest of the world o.O

It seems no boat has arrived in Europe, yet…

My local retailers (in Berlin, Germany) are not able to get "Tome of Fate" for me, they're trying for weeks now. Same problem with amazon.co.uk /.de or other online-stores, so how come this is officially "released" for a month already but i can't get the book without ordering it overseas?

Your mind is a weapon. Load it!

Still unavailable in the UK.

And I notice pirate copies are available online.

Unfortunate state of affairs.

This is available on drivethrurpg as a download, at the least. Not sure on the state of shipping to Europe.

It's really weird seeing that people from UK and Germany don't have their copies yet, since I live in Finland and got my copy from the FLGS three weeks ago o.O Wonder whats the problem FFG is having with shipping lately. Hope its not a sign of financial problems :l

At this stage, the ball is in the distributors' court, rather than being under FFG's control. For a good portion of Europe, this is Esdevium Games. I've known situations in the past where distributors have delayed certain releases, sometimes to spread out a busy period (such as shortly after GenCon) and/or avoid overwhelming retailers with more stock than they can easily store at a particular time..

Well, no, it's not in the distributor's court, that's the point! The distributors obviously are waiting to receive copies in order to ship them. I'd be extremely surprised if Esdevium were sitting on this given that gaming is a niche hobby and it makes them no money to hold off on rpg books! It would cost them to have stock sat in their warehouses as opposed to being available to shops to order, shops that probably want to order it.

Can't you just get it from somewhere else? Are there any local game stores you can go to?

There are no female Space Marines. Don't believe me?

Gender & Appearance
Due to the special nature of the zygotes that make up a Space Marine's geneseed, all Space Marines are male.
- Deathwatch, Core Rulebook, Page 28.

So enough with the Female Marine threads…

Of course, but they can't get it until Esdevium have it for them to order. Until the distributors get it the shops can't sell it. The only other way would be to order it from another country which is expensive

Be surprised all you want, but it does happen. Local stores almost never stock RPGs and only RPGs - most sell card, board and miniatures games as well, and most favour one over the others (my local store caters more to board gamers and card gamers - RPGs are a niche-within-a-niche). In the wake of convention season - particularly in the month or so after GenCon - there is a huge amount of stuff released, and few local stores are of sufficient size to carry all of that stock (they literally don't have the room to store it all, let alone put it on the shelves). It's detrimental to sales overall if stores can't stock adequate quantity of items that will sell, so releases are spread out to ease this potential issue. Yes, it's costly to keep stock in the warehouses, but given that most distributors take 60% of the shelf price of the books they sell (that information is publicly available, so you can check it if you want), and they're the ones with the warehouse space to do such a thing if they feel it's necessary, it shouldn't be all that unbelievable.
