Howdy!
The preliminary GenCon event list is up! Almost 8,000 events are listed - there will probably be several thousand more in the final reg book (last year there were over 12,000 event listings).
Last year there were 15-20 Warhammer 40K rpg games at GenCon, and this year there are NO Deathwatch games?! Really? It doesn't look good for the other W40K games, either. What gives? Last year, there were at least 6-8 Deathwatch events.

Very weird indeed. I would think that Deathwatch would be particularly suited to convention games.

Indeed they are - I played in 2 last year, and I was hoping to play in a few more this year as well!

I noticed this as well. I was extremely sad to see that. Though I've made sure to set all the other 40k RPG games as top priorities. Hope I can get into at least one…

I wouldn't get your hopes up for W40K ROG events at GenCon - right now there is only 1 Dark Heresy, 1 Rogue Trader and 1 Black Crusade game scheduled. There will be more events posted at the last minute, but it doesn't look good…

Considering I didn't get into even one 40k RPG event at Origins, I'll take what I can get.

Last year at GenCon, there were at least 5-6 Deathwatch games (maybe with a few repeats). I got into two of them with generic tickets, but two others were filled with pre-reg AND still had a bunch of people trying to get in. Same with Dark Heresy. There was only 1-2 Rogue Trader games, and I didn't try any of those.
