Here is a converted Allied Sniper I made -- I modeled him after one of my favorite G.I. Joe characters: "Snow Job". (swapped the head with one of the heads from the Dust-Models tank squad kit, used green stuff for the hood and to attach the skis - which are just cut from an old library card ).

Here's my new Mekatank unit (Wolf I ausf B), which I think will make a good AR2 unit. The greenish splashes are from liquid Green Stuff I used to mask mold lines, while the bags on the side (green too) are resin accessories made by Black Dog. I also glued on the top the engine cover taken from the Loth. Right now it's stil partially unassembled, as I have left the legs, body and weapons detachable for ease of painting.

The set is from Gaso Line, made of resin, and requires a bit of work to get it ready for assembling. The pieces have a lot of flash, mold lines, and the leg pieces require some careful drilling to fit the feet, knee and hip peg joints. Not for the faint hearted.

Shown side to side with the usual Hans for size refence:

And next to my custom Loth:

Single 20mm autocannon, with night vision scope:

Grenade Launcher:

Top engine cover:

I'll rename it as Panzer Aufklarerlaufer Is-N Natter (viper), used as a scout vehicle, for urban fighting, close support and infantry hunting. While outclassed both by AR3 and 4 walkers and AR3 infantry, it holds its own against the lighter vehicles and troops, being especially suited to hunt down snipers and artillery spotters thanks to its weaponry and high mobility.

Now, onward to priming and painting.

Thanks. Currently painting it, while experimenting a pea-dot camo of sorts seen on a Sturmgeschutz IV. Hope to finish it this week end.

Got Johnny One-Eye, but the original head was a mess : bad casting and too much primer.  The mini is also somewhat bland, so I decided to modify it a bit. Added a belt and holster + stuck a 40K IG officer head, modified the crest and drilled in a rod for the cigar… If only my painting and photo skills could match my crafting skills.  At least, now, he looks like a proper officer/hero.

Wasn't sure, but I did my research.  Of course, the usual combat hat would be an M1 steel helmet.  The one that Dust Studio seems to like is the garrison hat, but the full dressed uniform used the peeked cap.  You see them a lot with Hollywood movie bomber pilots, but they didn't leave their mark on our collective minds as infantry officer paraphernalia…

A quick search gave me this page to show you examples : http://www.wwiiimpressions.com/newusarmyoffodservicecap.html
