Any word on a collectors edition of Deathwatch?

Only educated guesses. Something akin to Rogue Trader CE, perhaps; expensive book, some certificate or another and a nice box to pack it all in.

I want it for the simple reason that my DH rulebook is rapidly approaching "severely tattered" status, and I'm waiting in breathless anticipation for the pages to start fall off (a bit of a problem with the original WH40K Rogue Trader rulebook, I recall). In comparison, the Rogue Trader CE seems more sturdy, and the paper is nice, and the covers are really nice, and it comes with a blue satin bookmark ribbon and everything...

There are worse reasons to throw $120 (plus shipping) at a book. I hope.

So . . . about that collector's edition.

Futility

Move him into the sun
Gently its touch awoke him once,
At home, whispering of fields unsown.
Always it woke him, even in France,
Until this morningthis snow.
If anything might rouse him now
The kind old sun will know.

I would imagine that FFG have learned their lesson from last year and will not be releasing any details about the CE until they have it ready and they are quite close to the release data and people don't wait months and bug them everyday about when it will be shipped as they have taken their order.

I would hope that the product would be ready to ship the same day as its released at games day, but if its the same as last year i would imagine we will get it about 1-2 months after games day.

What were included in the CE of DH/RT? I am interested but if a fancy cover, a bit of paper and a book mark are it, then I don't know if I could justify spending $200AU on a role-play book.

Not too sure on the DH version but the RT version which i got a copy of was very nice.

Here is a link for a video that shows someone unboxing their copy of RT.

I hate to be a pain but my computer has filtering software that completely blocks YouTube so could you possibly describe what comes out of the box?

The book is leatherbound, with silver gilt edges (shiny). It looks fairly pretty, and the inside has the collector's number out of 1000 stamped on it. The book comes in a larger box, which is this really nicely decorated foldout box that looks like a giant tome. Also, the first 500 books received a special fan-boy-tastic certificate complete with Imperial wax seal and addressed to the owner, declaring him an official Rogue Trader.

Meh... I dunno. I can't see myself paying double for a leather bound book, but I've never owned one. So whatever.

If I have the money I would get it, I was impressed with the RT version. Number 403 here... Still the box was destoryed by my roommates dog. The paper and seal waxed warrent are fine as I have it placed in a frame, best way of keeping it safe.

Thought of the day:" The Justice of the Imperium can be found at the tip of a Bolt Round. "
