I recently finished kitbashing a Tyranid Hive flkeet together - and now I look at them, they'd make some damn nice void whales, space mantas and assorted Warp Krackens! Thought I'd share.

I must say that your Tyranid fleet looks much better then the ones that GW sculpted. One of the reasons why I never bothered to get those miniatures to begin with. If they had looked like yours, well that would have been another matter. They feel Tyranid to me so using them for Void Whales would not be my choice of using them though.

These are really nice. But use them as Tyranids. Part of a splinterfleet? Tyranids seems to be encountered everywhere(altough some parts of the galaxy may not recognise them as tyranids of course).

Thanks for the feedback guys! At the moment our GM is happy not having Tyranids in the Koronos Expanse (thankfully) - so they'll serve as space beasties, but they'll get their turn as a Nid fleet in due time I'm sure.

Thanks - I also scratch built a Dark Eldar & Ork Fleet that I might pop on the boards a bit later on. I've also been working on a fleet of rogue Trader ships using GW models and the ancient 'Space Fleet' models (I've put photos of them in the gamesmasters section under: Our Koronos Campaign)
