What do the sizes mean?

Umm newb question but what exactly is standard american size? I'm looking for some really cool card sleeves for magic: the gathering and I love the art on the FFG sleeves but I don't want to order any and find out they don't fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Magic cards would use the Standard Card Game size (silver color code for the clear ones) which is what the sleeves with the artwork are. American sized sleeves will not fit Magic cards correctly.
