wider cards

I just bought my first 2 battle packs (The Silent Forge and Firey Dawn) and noticed that the cards are ever so slightly wider than the core set cards.

Has anyone else noticed this? Are all battle packs/expansion cards this way?

It's only slightly annoying when shuffling and otherwise not an issue. What is the deal witht this?

What region of the world do you live in? Personally, I've never noticed, but I wouldn't judge my cards for putting on a tiny bit of weight.

Yes, it's a known issue. There was a lot of discussion about this when the first battle packs came out. Personally it doesn't bother me because I don't use my cards unsleeved.

ive figured that problem as well because they are sleeved :x

some cards go in the sleeves with ease, and others need really some effort to get them in the sleeves

Happy DD - I live in the central US.

I heard from some guys that sleeves would fix this issue, but I just don't feel like dropping money on darn near 300 sleeves and counting. That's a few bucks that could o towards the next battle pack. It's not a big issue, I just don't see why they wouldn't make them all the same size.

…unless of course they want you to buy the sleeves…

Don't buy 300+ sleeves, just buy enough for the deck(s) that you're currently using. Also if cost is an issue don't buy sleeves from FFG, the quality's good but there are much cheaper options out there.

Also, sleeving your decks has the added benefit of keeping your cards in good condition for a lot longer.

I use sleeves. It's annoying for the 5 minutes it takes to change the sleeves, but then you can bring the cards anywhere without worrying about them being ruined.

I get the benefits of the sleeves. It still just seems damn stupid that they would intentionally make the cards a different size…no sense at all!

Who said it was done intentionally?

Doc9: Perhaps it wasn't done intentionally, but then if you realize you had made them different, one would think that would be corrected.

 and how?

the cards were already printed and trashing all of them ?

and the "wider" is for me like half a milimeter, probably wasn't even recognized til then

and now they stick with the new format.

or is the wider a bigger difference in your region ?

I do sleeve my cards, but haven't noticed any discernable difference between card heights or widths since the Corruption Cycle. During play I don't notice, but as I put cards that have been edited out of my decks into piles before sorting them back into their battle packs and boxes of origin, you can really see how different the widths are between cards of the first four Corruption Cycle installments/Assault on Ulthuan and the rest of the the game's cards.

I present this as further fuel to the fire of "reprint the Corruption Cycle and AoU in the new 3x format" general request :)
