Hi to everybody! I have just started this game and at the moment I play with the empire.

I had 2 empire deck of the starter box and I had built a 60 cards deck but there is a little problem: I can't win win against the others starter box's decks.

The empire permit a very tactical and annoying game but it's not decisive and at the moment i don't know relly well how to use it; i think that Tall's temple and the judgment of Verena are very powerfull cards but there are no decisive creatures for the victory.

It's not a personal problem because when i use others deck i can win without problems…. :D

P.S. what is the utility of Tyrus Gormann?

P.S. 2: excuse me for the terrible english :P

With just the Core Set, the Empire lacks power on its units, but has great control. You can move your opponent's key units to zones where they bother you less, or return them to his hand, and this can clear the way for your attackers. You can also benefit from moving your own units. Increase the power of Pistoliers or Johannes Broheim with Shrine to Taal and Knight Training, and have them move through your zones. In one turn, they can grant you extra resources during your kingdom phase, then extra cards during your quest phase, and then be available to attack. Moving them to and from a zone can also increase the power of a Greatswords there.

With just one copy, you cannot build a reliable strategy around Judgement of Verena, but it can still easily win you the match if your opponent forgets about it. Sigmar's Intervention is pretty strong when you're playing with just the Core Set, especially if you have a zone with several Counterstrike units you can redirect the attack too. Demoralise and Franz's Decree can make quite a difference, too.

Thyrus Gorman is very cheap for his power. Even if he dies quickly, it's usually a good deal, no matter which zone you play him into.

thank you for the reply :D

Yes, i think that it's only question of practise, it's not the most immediate deck (like the orcs :P )

I will try to use better tyrus.

The feeling i have when there was only the Coreset is that Chaos can't win against all other et orc rush was really easy to play. But i don't remind that Empire was so weak.
